Lead of Disability Partnerships

1 x Full Time Role available: 38 hrs/week across 5 days per week
Hybrid working environment:  Work from home (3 days per week) and our East Melbourne VIC office (2 days/week).

About Us

MediStays provides a comprehensive, Australia-wide booking service for patients, carers and families seeking accommodation for health, disability and medical travel. While some guests are travelling for medical appointments or specialist care, others have been discharged from hospital and require interim accommodation to support new or lifelong disabilities.

Our community require accommodation for many reasons, including medium term accommodation to support a hospital discharge, through to short term options for respite stays. We are also aware that some guests, including family members and carers, are travelling under challenging and sensitive circumstances. The common thread for guests referred to our service is their gratitude for the positive impact MediStays makes on their disability journey.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual, with experience in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), to join MediStays dynamic team. The successful candidate will play an important role in expanding our presence in the disability and NDIS sector. This role involves identifying and cultivating new partnerships, nurturing existing partnerships, and contributing to the growth and impact of our organisation.

Key Accountabilities

Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Your thorough research and analysis of the disability market will identify key trends, opportunities for potential partnerships and growth in disability accommodation (STA, MTA and SDA).
  • By applying findings of your research, you will implement strategies and forge partnerships to ensure MediStays are best meeting the needs of our community and their accommodation needs.
  • You will stay informed of changes in NDIS policies, funding and regulations relevant to our organisation.


Strategic Partnerships

  • With your deep insights into the accommodation needs of MediStays community, you will effectively communicate our value proposition to strategically aligned providers of SDA, MTA and STA.
  • You will foster strong relationships with accommodation providers to enhance the quality and availability of accommodation options aligned with the needs of MediStays community and drive referrals to our partners.
  • You will develop and implement frameworks for streamlining referrals from our Care Navigators to our valued accommodation providers.
  • With a focus on the demand for MediStays service, you will identify and forge new partnership opportunities within the disability sector, including NDIS service providers, support coordinators, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • To raise the overall awareness of our service, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the NDIS space.
  • Actively engage in networking events, conferences, and industry forums to build relationships and raise awareness of MediStays offerings.


Strategic Growth and Analysis

  • In collaboration with our marketing team, you will create targeted campaigns and materials for our community of people living with disabilities, providers and referrers.
  • You will provide regular reports on your activities, including market trends, partnership opportunities, competitor analysis and the growth of MediStays SDA, MTA and STA segments.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in relationship development.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS framework and policies.

This role will be offered 5 days per week, with flexibility to work from your home and our Melbourne based office (min 2 days/week).
